When I began my journey with Cassie I was the heaviest I had ever been. I had tried diet after diet plan, IF, cal restriction, low carb, cutting alcohol, no sugar…you name it, I tried it. I was getting 0 sustainable results. When I met Cassie and explained my history and struggle with dieting, she explained her approach to feeling better, and recommended I give it a try. I figured why not try her way, I have tried everything else. At this time I didn’t know I was signing up for a complete life overhaul, but in the absolute greatest way possible.

Since starting with Cassie as my coach, I am down 17 lbs of fat so far and still dropping. I have lost several pant sizes, going from a 14 to a size 8. And while the physical transformation has been amazing, the internal and mental changes I have experienced have far outweighed the physical changes. I am a better daughter, sister, mom, and wife for living this lifestyle. No eliminating whole food groups or stressing over what I can and can’t eat when I’m in a social environment with friends/family. No more having to cook separate meals for my family, while I starve over a bowl of lettuce. Hey there! I’m Cara, one of your functional medicine MM coaches! I was blessed to be one of Megan’s first affiliate coaches and started my journey with MM in 2020 (when the world went crazy)! I absolutely LOVE being a part of this community!

I’ve been a dietitian since 2009, completed my undergrad from Iowa State University (with Megan) and obtained my Master’s from University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems in 2018. I work and live in rural Iowa, which means I have been a “jack-of-all trades” in the nutrition field. 14 years ago I started off being primarily clinical-focused in the hospital setting but over the past several years have transitioned mostly to outpatient counseling where I primarily work with eating disorders and diabetes management as a certified diabetes care and education specialist. I also operate a micro-farm with my husband and 4 young kiddos, where we produce organically grown veggies, pork, and eggs for members in our community.

My passion for growing good food and whole-body wellness led me to complete further formal training in functional medicine over the past year to further help my clients take a “root-cause” approach to their struggles and provide functional testing as needed.

In summary: My secret talent is blending both functional and conventional approaches to help clients find answers to their struggles and come up with a personalized plan for them.

Cassie is our top MM coach (with the most requests and the most rave reviews!) having helped over 300 members within the program. She’s working towards a double Masters in Dietetics and Nutrition & Integrative Health. Cassie is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is generally considered the gold standard for nutrition coaching in the United States.

Hi! I'm Katie Pipinich, a registered dietitian with a passion for helping others improve their overall health and wellness. I received a master’s degree in nutrition from Arizona State University in 2012. I have also completed advanced training to become a certified diabetes educator and board-certified lactation consultant. I have been a member of the Metabolism Makeover team for over two years!

I am passionate about empowering women to make meaningful changes to improve their lives (especially after becoming moms). As a working mom with two young kids, I know what it’s like to raise a family, work and try to take care of yourself in between! It’s not easy, and I can relate to the struggle!

As much as I love talking about food and educating people about nutrition, there are so many other important areas tied to overall wellness. For the first time in my life I am not scared of food. That is a bold statement coming from a girl that has tried everything to lose/maintain weight. Even when I was so active in grade school and high school, I put restrictions on myself because I was always the bigger girl. I understand my body isn’t mean to be small, what can I say, I got all the curves, but it is learning to love the curves.
 
Pregnancy was a scary time for me internally because I was scared to gain weight and not be able to lose it. I decided to work with Cassie a couple months post-partum because I couldn’t lose these pesky last 10 lbs. From the beginning, she told me to be easy with myself, I did just have a baby. The best thing she taught me was to not be scared to eat, to satisfy your hunger with nutritious whole foods, but also you can splurge once in a while (that means alcohol too). She also taught me it isn’t just the food; you need to evaluate other aspects of your life to feel better. Working with Cassie has helped me lose 10 lbs in 4 months (with less exercise and more food). Also note within those months were both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I fit in my pre pregnancy clothes. My husband says I no longer get hangry and I eat the damn cookie if I want it. I don’t have to make myself earn it. Thank you, Cassie, for changing my relationship with food and myself.

What you learn in Metabolism Makeover will give you a great foundation, and it'll be easier to just dive right into 1:1 if you have already laid the groundwork. However, if you know a group setting is not for you and would prefer high-touch 1:1 personalized guidance, VIP may be for you.

Should I do 1:1 or Metabolism Makeover?

Absolutely! We have pescatarian, vegan and vegetarian meal plans and individual recipes we can provide for inspiration. We are not a macro/calorie focused program, but we do help clients find balance on the plate through whole food nutrition so they feel satiated and satisfied all while working towards their goals.

Do you work with vegetarians, vegans?

We can provide you with macro ranges to help you reach your goals, but we did not create VIP to be a calorie, macro management plan. We created VIP to help you get to the root cause of your body's weight loss resistance. We dive deep. We talk openly. We create a trusting bond. We support and hold you accountable. Instead of just providing you with macro goals, we provide you with resources, customized solutions and personalized guidance to help get you to where you want to go. We don’t push you, but we challenge you to meet us ½ way.

Will you provide me with a specific macro plan?

This is 90% of our clientele. You are not isolated! The question is, will you make time for yourself? Our goal is to teach you how feeling better and nourishing your body with lifestyle and dietary choices doesn’t have to be so hard. It’s not easy and it does take effort, but we will be here to guide and support you 100% of the way and to provide you with all of our secret tips and tricks to living your best life! 

I’m a working mom and always on the go, is this right for me?

No. It is encouraged (but not necessary) to complete the 30 day Metabolism Makeover program prior to working 1:1 with our 1:1 Coaches, Cassie and Elle, because we feel it helps set you up with a strong lifestyle and dietary foundation, but we realize not everyone thrives in a group coach setting. If that’s not your jam and you prefer high touch coaching and more of a personalized guidance approach, 1:1 is for you! Cassie and Elle will help you set your vision and implement strategies to help you reach your goals in a safe and realistic timeframe. We support, hold you accountable and challenge you, but go at a pace that you feel comfortable with.

Do I need to complete Metabolism Makeover before doing 1:1 coaching?

Megan is the fabulous Founder of the Metabolism Makeover. While she spent years creating and executing her vision of the program, as well as coaching, she now has a trusted team of 16 women who help her continue to build and grow the business on a surface level. While Megan no longer does individual, 1:1 coaching, please know that she is still a present member of your team and part of your special journey! She has spent a lot of time creating content, educating & training her team so that they can best serve MM clients. At the same time, she is working really hard behind the scenes to continue to grow and perfect the member experience. Megan has fully placed her trust in our 1:1 Coaches, Cassie and Elle, to run the 1:1 program!
